The Barcelona Jewish film & Audio-Visual Laboratory is a dynamic initiative born from the collaboration between the "Festival Cinema Jueu, Barcelona" and the "Institut d'Estudis Jueus de Barcelona (EJB)." Developed, and managed by EJB, this innovative project aims to enrich the intercultural landscape of Jewish cinema and Audiovisual creation in Barcelona and beyond.

The CineLab offers cutting-edge content to expand the understanding of cinema, push the boundaries of conventional filmmaking, and open new perspectives of audiovisual creation. This is achieved through courses, workshops, masterclasses, and training programs on various aspects of Jewish cinema and Audiovisual culture. It also provides tailored professional support for local and European audiovisual artists and filmmakers at different stages of their creative and production processes.

By forging partnerships with the Barcelona film and audiovisual industry, as well as with Jewish film stakeholders on a European and global scale, the Cine Lab Barcelona aims to be a significant professional and creative hub, promoting Jewish culture and Sephardic heritage and their relationship with other cultures through the powerful medium of film.

A primary objective of the Cine Lab project is also to enhance, expand and support the "Festival Cinema Jueu, Barcelona", to secure diverse funding sources (from local to European levels), thereby ensuring the festival's long-term sustainability and growth.

 

CineLab Annual programs:

Starting on October 2024, CineLab Barcelona will offer an annual program, both in Fiction and Documentary tracks, designated for Film and Audiovisual students, artists and professionals who wish to create, develop, and perfect their work in the field of Jewish cinema and audio-visual culture.
