The Institute for Jewish Studies Barcelona offers non-denominational programs for the study of Jewish thought and culture, from ancient times to the present. The curriculum is conducted using traditional Jewish study-methodologies and through an interpretive encounter with canonical and masterpiece texts of the “Jewish book shelve”: Bible, Talmud, Philosophy, Theology, Kabbalah, Hasidut, Modern and Contemporary thought.

The Institute for Jewish Studies Barcelona specializes in the study and research of the Sephardic branch of Jewish civilization, its legacies, challenges, and futures. The Sephardic studies extends from the abundant heritage of the medieval Iberian Peninsula, through the global distribution of the Sephardic diaspora (spanning regions such as the Mediterranean, the Near East, the Balkans, and the Americas), to present-day vocations and dilemmas. Sephardic thought and tradition are studied as a valuable source, offering unique insights into the questions and challenges of our contemporary era.
