Cinema & Philosophy
Cinema History Through the Lens of Jewish Thought

Online Series (February – May 2025)

This 13-session Series will explore the history of cinema through the lens of Jewish philosophy.

Each session pairs a significant filmmaker or cinematic movement with the ideas of a Jewish philosopher, offering a unique perspective on how film reflects and interacts with broader cultural, ethical, and intellectual currents.

By blending film analysis with philosophical inquiry, we will uncover deeper layers of meaning in cinematic history, tracing the evolution of both visual storytelling and philosophical thinking.

The sessions are delivered by Roee Messinger - “CineLab" – The Barcelona Multicultural film & Audio-Visual Laboratory.

The sessions will take place on Mondays from 18:00 to 20:00.

Sessions will be in an online format.

Language of instruction: English (Catalan, Spanish, and Hebrew friendly).
Complete Course (12 sessions) fee: €155

Single session fee: €17

Start date: February 10th, 2025.
