LOOKING BACK: THE PAST YEAR

As the Institute for Jewish Studies in Barcelona concludes its third year of activity, it continues to develop as an open and inclusive space dedicated to the study and research of Jewish intellectual and cultural heritage through texts, art, activism, and scholarship.

What happened this month, and what’s coming up next?

In short: Registration is now open for the Institute for Jewish Studies’ international summer seminar; the Beit Midrash spring course will explore the relationship between Jewish thought and the climate crisis; LABA Barcelona held its end-of-year exhibition and enrollment for next year is still open for a few more days; and Zman Emet is hosting a lecture by Dr. Norma Musih.

What happened this month?
We launched the LABA 2026 program with 11 new participants. Within the framework of the Zman Emet partnership, we hosted Hillel Cohen, and we Our spring semester of the Beit Midrash for Jewish Thought .

And what’s coming next month?
A new Beit Midrash focused on Kabbalah, and a lecture by Ibrahim Abu Ahmad on Arab society in Israel after October 7 and ahead of the Israeli elections.
